Granted, those are women sharing their experiences, however to be fair, men are experiencing a lot of this as well. Do you find yourself, much like Alice In Wonderland, attempting to peer into or jump through the looking glass, desperate for answers, while the man in your life seems to care less? I get a lot of questions posed to me from the post referenced above. When men behave peculiar towards women, women have a tendency to blame themselves. This is not Prince Charming gals, this is a man waving a giant red flag in your face. How could he be? He wants to hurry this process along so he can get in and get out just as quickly. He’ll compliment you, he’ll act as if he’s really interested, he’ll communicate regularly and with gusto in the early stages and he’ll come on very strong at first, speeding things right along. So fast that you’ll never see it coming. This guy is emotionally immature and lacks the social skills necessary to interact in a genuine manner — so he fakes it.

Aside from that, kids with Autism often are very sensitive to sounds, touch and sights. This is called either sensory integration or sensory processing disorder. The thing that really bothered me was loud noises. I was about four or five years old, and we were waiting for our flight back to Pittsburgh from the McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas.
Somebody seemed to have set off the airport security alarm, which went off throughout all the airport gates. I sat, held my ears and dealt with it for about three minutes, when my mom put ear plugs in my ears. The noise became very overpowering and I started crying and screaming. My parents, along with my sister decided to get on the tram and go into the terminal.
We stood there for about thirty minutes and we had to go through security to get on the tram back to the gate. When we got off the tram and went back to the gate, the alarms were finally turned off. We sat down at the gate and I was fine. We got on the plane and we went back to Pittsburgh without problems. I am sure there are parents out there who would just sit there and let the kid scream because they thought that I was crying just to get attention.

I am not only talking about what WebMD has to say about it. I mean you need to understand how your partner has learned to deal with his or her condition as an individual. The way in which two individuals can deal with identical conditions can be anything but identical. Knowing what works for your partner and not just what you think will work best for them will make the ride a little less bumpy. And, if your partner is just learning about the condition for the first time, too, make sure your partner knows you are with him or her for every step along the way.

Hi, it was good to see your comment, I’ve been dating a guy off and on for 7 years and just this year did I realize he has Aspergers: I figured this out on my own, I was going crazy, breaking up and going back and forth with him several times.
I apologize ahead of time for my own ignorance on the matter I know for a fact my boyfriend has Asperger’s he was diagnosed when he was younger and I find a lot of his symptoms to be charming to be honest. I really am not bothered by this and his quirks are part of what I fell in love with him over. However, I am started to be concerned that his lack of empathy is more than just having Asperger’s.
He himself once said he was concerned that he may be a sociopath. Is it common for someone with Asperger’s to be manipulative, pathologically lie, have a grandiose sense of self, feel no guilt or blame for hurting others in fact, if he does something to hurt me it ALWAYS manages to be my fault somehow – he never ever says sorry and he’s not sorry for hurting me – he told me this point blank tonight , etc..? He said he’s well aware certain things he does hurts me but he doesn’t care and will continue to hurt me and lie about it.
If he doesn’t believe it’s wrong and it’s not something that would hurt him, he feels it shouldn’t hurt me and will continue to do it behind my back. Maybe that is common for people with Asperger’s? I know he loves me.
